Chica is the adorable West Highland Terrier owned by Barbara Sass Blauvelt, an interior designer I met at the Lake Wales show. A great little gal, this Chica, independent but loving and loyal.
Meet Dollar General!
Dollar General, or DG as his new mom and dad like to call him, was a stray who walked into Dawn Tinsley's life about a year ago. Beaten up and malnourished, he wandered into a Dollar General Store, seeking human help, and Dawn immediately came to the rescue, literally. Now healthy and happy and part of their family, Scott Culbertson, Dawn's fiancee, ordered a commissioned portrait of DG. Scott had previously ordered a pet portrait of their Bassett Hound.
I've done hundreds of pets, but this one really grabbed my heart because of the story of this gentle pup, and how his rescue was a last chance for him. It's this kind of stuff that makes my eyes leak...
